testing ecto, the mac blogging client

there are two main mac blogging client that are commonly recommended: ecto and mars edit. i think i’ll try both for two weeks and decide on one to use.

in general i don’t like using the web interface: i tend to be wordy and have run into problem where i lost an unfinished article due to firefox or os bugs. it’s slower, and a blog client seems like a good way to go…which by the way reminds me to check whether either ecto or mars edit has autosave features.

oh, and then there are those who blog using textmate, i suppose i should try it out too, but i imagine formatting is going to be a pain

    Hello William,

Did you ever come to a decision on which blog client you preferred?

Normally I edit my blog posts in textedit, using html tags as text. Then I copy/paste into the wordpress web browser editor, add images or whatever, and tweak til it looks all pretty. :)

It’d be really great to try a blog client where I could do all that offline and then just use the client to send the finished, polished post to wordpress.

Did you ever decide which client you thought was best for you?

    Best regards,

    Lubyanka. :)

    Lady Lubyanka:

After some amount of using ecto next to MarsEdit, I decided that MarsEdit is a better fit for me and so far I haven’t regretted it. Now only if they would get married and have an offspring…
